Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte on Thursday night said he had filed a second criminal referral against Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook, whom President Donald Trump is trying to fire.
Pulte said the new referral relates to a mortgage relates to a mortgage on third property “and alleged misrepresentations about her properties to the United States Government during her time as Governor of the Federal Reserve.”
Earlier Thursday, Cook sued Trump, asking a federal judge in Washington, D.C., to block the president from removing her from the board of the central bank.
Trump earlier in the week cited the first criminal referral Pulte made against Cook in a letter notifying her that he was firing her.
